Update

The latest update to What it takes is now live. Issues with data upload have now been resolved, security is now fully active and the my measures monitoring and reporting systems are ready for testing. If users are having difficulty access dashboards they could previously access, please contact your site administrators or the team at NLIAH. Please note that the site is best viewed in Internet Explorer 7 or above or Mozilla Firefox, this is due to the level of client side functionality. Users browsing the site in Internet Explorer 6 will have layout issues. These will be rectified by launch

Welcome

Welcome to "What it takes", an online application that enables organisations, teams, individuals to quickly identify how well their processes meet the expectations placed upon them.

Whats it's all about

“What it takes” is an organisational dashboard that has been designed in response to requests from NHS board members. The dashboard enables board members and managers to focus their improvement efforts.

Dashboards have many faces and are used in many different ways, when  developing this dashboard three principles were adhered to:

 ·         Visual
 ·         Easy of use and understanding
 ·         Use statistical approaches to assess performance

These principles also underpin NLIAH’s approach to using data in support of quality improvement. By grouping measures into key themes it concentrates the analysis into a high level dashboard that enables 'at a glance' assessment of an entire organisation’s performance. If used well it can reduce inappropriate reaction to common cause variation and the risk of misunderstanding data. The dashboard uses and displays statistical process control on all measures and calculates the processes capability as a percentage.
